Coir Mattings are woven floor coverings made from 100% natural coir fiber extracted from coconut husks. They are produced on traditional handlooms or power looms, showcasing the timeless craftsmanship of Kerala’s coir industry. Available in natural beige, bleached tones, and a range of solid colours and patterns, coir mattings are designed through variations in weave style, yarn type, and colour combinations.
The most popular varieties include Panama weave coir matting, which features a classic checkerboard pattern created by interlacing multiple yarns for a balanced and durable texture; Bouclé weave coir matting, known for its looped yarn structure that adds warmth and a rich texture to interiors; and Herringbone weave coir matting, distinguished by its elegant V-shaped zigzag design that enhances the aesthetic appeal of stairways, corridors, and refined interior spaces. These versatile woven coir mattings can be supplied with or without latex backing and can be cut into custom sizes as per specific application needs, making them ideal for both flooring and decorative wall panelling purposes.
